Speech of H.H. on Tibetan New Year

HH_Trinley_Lhundrup
On the occasion of the Tibetan New Year and the start of the Iron Ox Year, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgön Thinley Lhundup has published a speech on Facebook. In it, H.H. draws attention to the great waste of food, especially during festive seasons. In addition, he emphasizes the interrelation of our food, our environment and our health and gives advice for maintaining physical and mental health.

The speech in Tibetan with English subtitles can be found here on Facebook.

Donation for Buddha Statue

Shakyamuni-statue
The Sangha of the Drikung Kagyu Mila Center in France under the direction of Khenpo Tashi Rinpoche would like to have a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni for their future meditation room of the retreat center in Bonny-sur-Loire. The statue will be made in Nepal and will be about 2 meters high. The center is now seeking donations to finance this project. More information can be found on the center's website.

Long Shitro-Puja at the monastery
of H.E. Ayang Rinpoche in South India

Bardo_friedvoll

From the 8th - 15th day of the first Tibetan month (February 20-27), an extensive Shitro practice takes place at the monastery of H.E. Ayang Rinpoche in South India. This includes meditations, prayers and rituals related to the 100 peaceful and wrathful deities of the intermediate state (Tib. Bardo) that begins after death and lasts until rebirth.

This Shitro practice is performed especially for the deceased of the last year, but also for those who died earlier. In the process, the lamas and monks can be told the names of the deceased and they will be included in the practice, so that the deceased are accompanied on their way and supported by good circumstances.
The Aachen Drikung Center collects donations which make the Shitro Puja possible. They can be transferred to the center account or via PayPal to "aachen@drikung.de". The purpose of use should be "Shitro practice". The names of the deceased can be sent to aachen@drikung.de by 2/21 so that they can be send to the monks in time.
